Below are a variety of organizations who are working to create Health Equity locally, nationally, and globally.

National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities

The National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD) is one of the 27 institutes and centers of the federal National Institutes of Health (NIH) medical research agency. NIMHD's work touches the lives of millions of Americans burdened by disparities in health status and health care delivery, including racial and ethnic minority groups, rural populations, populations with low socioeconomic status, and others.

The Prevention Institute is a national nonprofit organization with a mission to build health equity into key policies and actions to ensure that health, safety, and well-being are fostered in the places where all people live, work, play and learn.

Ohio Commission on Hispanic/Latino Affairs (OCHLA)

The purpose of the Ohio Latino Affairs Commission is to advise state government on issues affecting Hispanic Ohioans, to connect the diverse Latino communities across the state, and to build the capacity of community organizations so they can better serve the fast growing population of Ohio. The commission serves as a liaison between government and the Hispanic/Latino community in Ohio and advocates the development and implementation of policies and programs to address the needs of the Hispanic/Latino Ohioans in several areas, including but not limited to education, employment, economic development, health, and housing.  

Ohio Commission on Minority Health

The Ohio Commission on Minority Health is dedicated to eliminating disparities in minority health through innovative strategies and financial opportunities, public health promotion, legislative action, public policy, and systems change.

World Health Organization - Equity

The World Health Organization's primary role is to direct international health within the United Nations' system and to lead partners in global health responses.  Among its efforts are raising awareness about and reducing health inequities.
