Midwest Workshop

The Midwest Workshop in Environmental Health is an annual training for Ohio sanitarians.

The annual Midwest Workshop in Environmental Health is sponsored by the Ohio Department of Health Bureau of Environmental Health and Radiation Protection (BEHRP). The workshop covers a variety of current topics in environmental health through presentations hosted by BEHRP staff. Topics include food safety, radiological health and safety, sewage, private water systems, and others.

The Midwest Workshop provides opportunities for Ohio sanitarians to receive continuing education credits toward their State Board of Sanitarian Registration. All Ohio sanitarians are encouraged to attend the Midwest Workshop

Notice Regarding Midwest Workshop 2020:

In light of recent events related to the COVID-19 virus and the Executive Order (Executive Order 2020-01D) issued by Governor DeWine on March 9, 2020, the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) has made the difficult decision to cancel Midwest Workshop scheduled March 23-26, 2020.

ODH will work with our fiscal department to issue refunds to all individuals and health departments who have pre-paid for the conference.  At this time, there is no plan to reschedule the conference for this year.

For questions, please contact Stephanie Youst at stephanie.youst@odh.ohio.gov or (614) 466-1772.

We appreciate your cooperation in this matter and hope to see you at Midwest 2021!
