Community Events

Below are local community events hosted by various Project DAWN and other programs. This is not an exhaustive list as there might be other events occurring in your community. Project DAWN programs can submit their upcoming community events to Projectdawn@odh.ohio.gov to be featured on the website.

Overdose Awareness Day and Recovery Month 2022

International Overdose Awareness Day (OAD) is a global event held on August 31st each year and aims to raise awareness of overdoses, reduce the stigma of drug-related deaths, and acknowledge the grief felt by families and friends. The month of September is recognized as National Recovery Month and works to educate Americans that substance use treatment and mental health services can enable those with a mental and/or substance use disorder to live a healthy and rewarding life.

Pike County

The Pike County PORT & Community Action Committee of Pike County Project DAWN Program is hosting the 2nd Annual Evening of Healing & Hope in honor of International Overdose Awareness Day. Check out this Facebook Link for more information about the event.
