Project DAWN Registration

Becoming a Project DAWN program can help your agency provide opioid education and take-home naloxone to clients and community members. An organization/agency does not have to register as a Project DAWN program to distribute naloxone in Ohio; however, registration is required to obtain free naloxone kits from the Ohio Department of Health.
Some of the requirements necessary to become a Project DAWN program are:
- Agency must be currently registered as a 501(c) non-profit with the IRS.
- Agency must have a protocol to personally furnish naloxone authorized by a physician, physician assistant, or certified nurse practitioner in accordance with the Ohio Revised Code.
- Agency must provide naloxone to the community, free of charge.
To register your program as a Project DAWN, click the "Download" button found on this page and download the PDF to your computer. Within the registration form, you will find a list of Project DAWN program requirements, information on Ohio laws, and instructions for completion. Completed registration forms can be emailed to projectdawn@odh.ohio.gov.
Project DAWN resources are available for organizations working to prevent opioid overdose and promote harm reduction.
