Any person applying to renew a GXMO license shall have completed 12 continuing education (CE) credits in radiation safety approved by ODH.

Any person applying to renew a radiographer, nuclear medicine or radiation therapy license shall have completed 24 CE credits in radiation safety approved by ODH. Applicants with multiple licenses may use the same 24 hours of CE for the renewal of each license.

You must submit the following as evidence of meeting the continuing education requirements:

  • All licensees who hold a valid certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) may submit their current certification card, specific to the license category, as proof of meeting Ohio's continuing education requirements.

  • All licensees not certified by ARRT or NMTCB must submit a copy or copies of the certificate(s) verifying completion of 24 credits of continuing education courses in radiation safety approved by ODH.

  • All licensees certified by the ARRT or NMTCB, but are on CE probation or on retired status, may submit directed readings approved by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) or Society of Nuclear Medicine (SNM) in the subjects relating to radiation safety.
