Save Our Sight
In light of COVID-19, Save Our Sight is committed to providing early detection of vision problems and the promotion of good eye health and safety for Ohio’s children. The Realeyes program has developed online resources for teachers. The PlayHardDon’tBlink/SuperSpecs program has prescription goggles available for your children. The Vision Screening program has developed an online training so that nurses and school personnel can be trained and ready to go when school starts again. The Ohio Amblyope Registry is still providing patches for children and resources for parents. Continue to check our Facebook page for updates. Thank you for your patience during these trying times.
When Ohioans apply for or renew their license plates, they will be asked if they want to contribute $1 to the fund and it will be added to their fee.
The purpose of the Save Our Sight Program is to ensure that children in Ohio have good vision and healthy eyes. This is accomplished through an established grant process and the recipients of the grant are expected to provide vision services in all counties of the state.
Grant goals, strategies and objectives align with the Ohio Revised Code that was established in 1999 when the program originated.
