The Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Prevention Program seeks to improve the health status of Ohio women by identifying issues that affect women’s health and developing programs to address those issues, including programs that address sexual assault and domestic violence prevention and services. Program staff members advocate for inclusion of information and programming on women’s health within state government and for the public.

The SADVPP works in partnership with other state and non-profit agencies to implement statewide programs, including:

• Fund local sexual violence prevention efforts

• Fund local programs to provide sexual violence crisis intervention services for communities identified as inadequately served

• Maintain and update the Ohio Protocol for Sexual Assault Medical and Forensic Examinations

• Promote domestic violence awareness and resources for state of Ohio employees

• Convene and coordinate statewide sexual violence prevention efforts

• Support efforts to address human trafficking, including applying best practice from other violence prevention work and supporting the public health response to human trafficking survivors

• Promote resources for women’s health
