Vaccine-Preventable Disease Epidemiology

The Vaccine-Preventable Disease Epidemiology Program at the Ohio Department of Health provides information about the occurrence and prevention of vaccine-preventable diseases. Vaccine-preventable diseases are infectious diseases for which an effective preventive vaccine exists. We conduct surveillance on vaccine-preventable diseases and outbreaks that are reportable in the state of Ohio. Our program works with the Ohio Department of Health Immunization Program, the Ohio Department of Health Laboratory, local health departments, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
