VS - Induced Abortion Report 2020

Ohio law (Ohio Revised Code 3701.79) requires certain information about induced abortions to be reported to the Ohio Department of Health by the physician who performed the abortion, using prescribed forms. The confidential forms include demographic and medical history information about the patient, and information about the medical procedure. Ohio Revised Code 3701.79 also requires the Ohio Department of Health to produce statistical reports about induced abortions occurring in Ohio. The forms are confidential – no identifying information about women who obtain abortions is collected except the medical record number. Abortion statistics are summarized in an annual “Induced Abortions in Ohio” report series. Annual report tables contain statistical information about induced pregnancy terminations at the state, county, and ZIP Code levels.
