The Early Childhood Health Program's electronic bulletin board provides timely one-way communication to early childhood professionals across the state. The email messages include health-related updates, information, training opportunities and other items relevant to early childhood health.

Ohio Early Care and Education Nutrition and Physical Activity Assessment
The Ohio Department of Health Early Childhood Health program is pleased to announce the launch of a new self-assessment tool for early care and education (ECE) programs, the Ohio ECE Nutrition and Physical Activity Assessment. This Ohio-specific assessment measures nutrition, physical activity, and related environments, practices, and policies in ECE settings. It is designed to be completed by ECE center administrators and family child care professionals across the state. Any ECE professional in the state may choose to complete the assessment.
For an introduction on how to use the self-assessment, please go to OhioTRAIN (https://www.train.org/odh/home ) and search for course #1090281. If you do not have an OhioTRAIN account, please follow the instructions to create one. If you have an account but have forgotten your password, do NOT create a new account. Instead, request a new password from the OhioTRAIN site.
A Quick Start Guide is available to help you use the assessment. In addition, if you would prefer to complete the assessment on paper before entering your information online, you may print the assessment questions here. In order to receive your program summary report, you must enter the information online.

The Ohio Healthy Programs (OHP) Technical Assistance for Child Care Centers and Public Preschools Program expands the technical assistance component of OHP to assist Child Care Centers and Preschools to receive the assistance they need to make policy and environmental changes that will lead to OHP designation that ultimately will improve the health and wellbeing of children and families they serve.
