Early Childhood Health Program
The Early Childhood Health Program aims to promote safe and healthy environments where young children live and learn. It includes the Early Childhood Obesity Prevention Program and the Health and Safety Program.

Mission: To protect and improve the health of all young Ohioans and their families by collaborating with others to promote a safe and healthy environment where each child lives and learns.

Vision: Safe and healthy environments for each young child will be the standard in Ohio. 

Program Goals

  • Create a culture of health and safety
  • Increase equity of safe environments and healthy options
  • Use consistent messages in diverse settings

The Early Childhood Health Program includes theEarly Childhood Obesity Prevention Program (ECOPP) and Health and Safety Trainings.

Electronic Bulletin Board

The Early Childhood Health Program's electronic bulletin board provides timely one-way communication to early childhood professionals across the state. The email messages include health-related updates, information, training opportunities and other items relevant to early childhood health.
