Ohio’s Annual Childhood Cancer Summit

Ohio Partners for Cancer Control’s (OPCC) pediatric cancer work group dedicated a strategy in Ohio's Comprehensive Cancer Control Plan 2021-2030 to the creation of an annual Ohio based summit for individuals impacted by childhood cancer. The summit strives to empower families, providers, and allies while sharing resources, support, and education on a variety of topics pertinent to childhood cancer.

During the morning of day one of the Ohio Childhood Cancer Summit 2021 a welcome was given, an overview of the work surrounding pediatric cancer in Ohio was shared, and a panel on PTSD and anxiety, featuring experts from Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Flying Horse Farms, was conducted.

Then, several Ohio nonprofit organizations shared their missions and the Ohio Department of Health gave an overview of 2019 Ohio pediatric cancer data.
