The Impact of Chronic Disease in Ohio: 2015 provides a comprehensive assessment of the burden and impact of chronic disease in Ohio. The report presents data for the following diseases, conditions and risk factors: heart disease, stroke, diabetes, cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), chronic lower respiratory disease (CLRD), asthma, arthritis, tobacco use, physical activity, nutrition, alcohol use, obesity, hypertension and high cholesterol. The report also addresses health disparities, social determinants of health and chronic disease costs. This report was developed for public health professionals, researchers, policy makers and other stakeholders to provide recent and relevant data and information to guide chronic disease program planning, monitor trends, evaluate public health interventions and policies, identify health disparities and determine the financial costs of chronic disease in Ohio.
