Infectious Disease Programs
Infectious Disease Informatics
In addition to many programs that conduct surveillance, investigation, control and prevention activities, the Infectious Disease Informatics program is dedicated to providing the infrastructure to support these activities with:
|Electronic Laboratory Reporting||Ohio Disease Reporting System||Syndromic Surveillance|
Infectious Disease Control Manual
Programs that focus on infectious diseases collaborate on the Infectious Disease Control Manual (IDCM). The IDCM is a reference for local health departments, hospitals, laboratories and physicians in providing information about infectious diseases from a public health perspective, including prevention, control and reporting of suspected and diagnosed cases. Ohio's list of reportable infectious diseases and reporting requirements, including timelines for reporting and surveillance case definitions, are included in the Ohio Department of Health's IDCM.
