Health of Ohio’s Kids Focus of Multi-Agency Conference

State Agencies Working Together to Promote Increased Collaboration

COLUMBUS – The Ohio Department of Health (ODH) is collaborating with the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD), Ohio Department of Education (ODE), Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS), Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) and Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMAS) to host the 2019 Early Childhood Cross Systems Conference on March 25-28, 2019 at the Hilton Easton in Columbus.

This year’s jointly-sponsored event promotes increased collaboration and improved outcomes among all early childhood professionals. Each day will be sponsored by a different state agency, with keynote speakers and breakout sessions designed to highlight the individual agencies’ services. Governor Mike DeWine’s proposed executive budget for fiscal years 2020-2021 emphasizes early childhood education, increased home visitation programs and a focus on adverse childhood experiences and trauma.

OhioMHAS will lead Monday, March 25, DODD will lead March 26, and ODH will lead March 27. ODJFS, ODE and ODM will host several cross-agency sessions throughout the conference. Day Four, which only lasts half the day, will consist of different leadership-focused breakout sessions, self-assessments, and presentations.
