The Lake Erie Protection & Restoration Plan (LEPR) outlines actions the Ohio Lake Erie Commission and its member agencies will take toward protection and restoration of Lake Erie and its watershed. It also serves as a reference guide for applicants to the Lake Erie Protection Fund. Projects funded by the LEPF must address a Priority Area listed in the most recent LEPR.

Lake Erie Protection & Restoration Plan

The Ohio Lake Erie Commission has released its 2025 Lake Erie Protection & Restoration Plan (LEPR), outlining strategic actions focusing on nine priority areas that address current and emerging issues in the Ohio Lake Erie basin. This plan reflects the collective efforts of state agencies and other partners to address areas such as nutrient pollution reduction, invasive species, and toxic pollutants. Public comments here.
