2024-2025 FluMist Replacement Program

Some lot numbers of FluMist® have begun reaching their expiration date, unused doses that are expired or near expiry are eligible for the FluMist® Replacement Program.  

This program allows providers to request replacement of unused expired/near expiry FluMist® doses. Doses will be replaced in increments of 10.  Doses from multiple eligible lots can be used to achieve a multiple of 10.  Doses received that are less than a multiple of 10 will be rounded down to the nearest 10.

Providers will work directly with McKesson Specialty Health to complete the replacement process. Contact the FluMist® Replacement Program for Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) by e-mail (flumistreplacement@mckesson.com) or phone (1-877-633-7375) to initiate the process.  The attached document contains specific details about the process.  

Replacement Program Eligibility Guidelines:

  • Requests for replacement can be made between Monday, December 2, 2024, and Friday, January 31, 2025.
  • This communication only pertains to VFC doses. Private doses are not eligible for the FluMist® Replacement Program for CDC.
  • Product expiration date must be on or before February 2, 2025. 
  • Any doses received at McKesson after February 15, 2025, will not be replaced.
  • AstraZeneca will replace expired doses of FluMist® while supplies last.
