National Infant and Adolescent Immunization Month
Dear Vaccines for Children Provider:
April is National Infant and Adolescent Immunization Month. Immunization providers, like you, play an important role in preventing serious diseases in Ohio’s children and adolescents.
To help improve your immunization coverage, the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Immunization Program offers a free opportunity to participate in an immunization quality improvement program.
The Immunization Quality Improvement for Providers (IQIP) program is a national quality improvement initiative for immunization providers sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
IQIP uses evidence-based approaches and best practices to promote and support implementation of provider-level strategies designed to help increase on-time vaccination of children and adolescents. IQIP is supported by ODH and performed by Ohio local health departments and the Ohio Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics (OAAP).
The ODH Immunization Program strongly encourages all Ohio immunization providers to participate in the IQIP program to improve immunization rates among our children and adolescents and advance the health and wellness of all Ohioans.
