Summary of Infectious Diseases in Ohio

Search the Summary of Infectious Diseases in Ohio database for current and historical case counts on more than 100 infectious diseases in Ohio, including measles. It is updated every Thursday afternoon.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

  • First, choose the timeframe (start date goes as far back as 2001).
  • To find an individual disease or group of diseases, deselect “All” from the “Reportable Condition” dropdown list.
  • Select the disease(s) you want to research.
  • Click “Apply.”
  • You can select “Epi Curve” or “Demographics” for more details. “Epi curve” will show you the timeline of the onset of illness for each case.

Respiratory Dashboard

Updated on Thursday afternoons, the Respiratory Dashboard features data on COVID-19, influenza, and RSV.

The dashboard allows users to look for current hospitalization numbers and identify trends over time. It is searchable by county and by region. The dashboard also includes a history of outbreaks. You can select one, more than one, or all.

Long-term Care Facility Investigations

ODH has regulatory oversight of nursing homes and residential-care facilities in Ohio. The department conducts surveys (inspections) both routinely and in response to complaints. You can visit this ODH webpage to search for surveys.

For nursing homes, choose the “Health Care Provider Real-Time Information” link at the top of the page, then select "Nursing Home" in the drop-down menu for Provider Type. For Information Type, select “Medicare/Medicaid Certification” and then enter the facility’s address.

At the bottom of the resulting screen will be a list of recent surveys completed by ODH. They are downloadable and printable.

Our most recent surveys may not yet be on file, as the facility must be notified prior to posting.

Also on this page you can find surveys of residential care (assisted living) facilities. Search under Ohio Department of Aging and click the link titled, "The Ohio Long-Term Care Consumer Guide."

Select “Find Facilities” at the top of the webpage. On the next webpage, click the blue “LAUNCH” button in the upper right.

Under Geographic Location on the left, select “Assisted Living (RCF)" at the Type of Facility drop-down menu. The best way to search is by facility name.

When the result displays, click the box to the left of the facility name, then “View Details” (blue box above).

This will pull up several tabs. The first one is “Inspections.” It will only show the most recent survey, so click on that date.

This will display all available surveys, and you can select the desired result.
